چکیده

This article puts forth a multistream networking paradigm, referred to as soft-source-information-combining (SSIC), support wireless Internet of Things (IoT) applications with ultrareliability requirements. For SSIC networking, an dispatcher at the source dispatches duplicates packets over multiple streams, which may be established different physical networks. If packet on stream cannot decoded due interference or noise, decoder makes available packet’s soft information. An aggregator then combines information boost reliability. Of importance are two challenges: 1) how descramble scrambled from streams enable correct and 2) construct dispatching aggregation framework compatible commercial network interface cards (NICs) TCP/IP To address challenges, we put forth: descrambling (SD) method minimize bit-error rate (BER) packet-error (PER) SSIC’s output architecture readily deployable today’s networks without specialized NICs. concept proving experimentation, realized system Wi-Fi’s paths in such way that all legacy can enjoy reliability brought by modification. Experiments our testbed corroborate effectiveness lowering delivery failure possibility providing 99.99% reliable for short-range communication.

Cooperative Signaling with Soft Information Combining

We propose a Decode-and-Forward (DF) scheme using distributed Turbo code (DTC) for a three-node (source, relay, and destination) wireless cooperative communication system. The relay decodes, then interleaves, and reencodes the decoded data. It then forwards the reencoded packet and its instantaneous receive SNR to the destination. The performances using both ideal and quantized SNR are studied....

Combining FEC and Optimal Soft-Input Source Decoding for the Reliable Transmission of Correlated Variable-Length Encoded Signal

In this paper we utilize both the implicit residual source correlation and the explicit redundancy from a forward-error-correction (FEC) scheme for the error protection of packetized variable-length encoded source indices. The implicit source correlation is exploited in a novel symbol-based soft-input a-posteriori probability (APP) decoder, which leads to an optimal decoding process in combinat...

Reliable Source Based Reactive Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are characterized by scarcity of resources and highly unreliable wireless channels, whereby minimizing energy-consumption is a key issue in design of communication protocols for the battery powered sensor nodes. The work in this paper addresses the problem of finding energy-efficient routes for delivery of packets through multihop communication with modification ...

Soft Information Relaying for Wireless Networks with Error- Prone Source-Relay Link

Relays in wireless networks can be used to decrease transmit power while additionally increasing diversity. Distributed turbo coding as a special case of decode-and-forward is very powerful in relay networks when assuming error free decoding in the relay. In practical wireless networks, however, this assumption is only justifiable if an ARQ protocol is applied which leads to lower throughput. S...
